I am so glad that Keira made our wedding cake! It was absolutely elegant and delicious. We actually wanted to eat more of our cake, it was that good. Her attention to detail made the cake a beautiful addition to our wedding. Keira was easy to work with and made sure that everything was in order. Her professionalism eased my concerns about the cake, allowing me to focus on the activities of the day. Since then my husband has mentioned that he wants to purchase another cake from her, just for the fun of it, because he really loved it and wanted more!

I definitely recommend Keira to anyone who is planning on getting married, or needs a cake of any kind because she does such an outstanding job and is really good to work with. Thank you Keira!

Also, a heads-up on some other changes our way: We're still working on our website. Should be up soon. And we're designing a new logo. More to come.

Dear Brides,
It was wonderful meeting you all at the bridal fair today. As you can see my blog is kind of out of date, and there's very little planning pictures online. I'm in the process of getting an actual web address (not a blogspot) and will put my pictures up on that. In the meantime, check out some of the cakes I've made in the past (since that's all there really is) and keep checking back. I'm so excited to work with you. For those of you who haven't set up a free consultation, if you set it up before the next bridal fair on the 16th is over, I'll take 15 percent off. And let me tell you now, if you're trying to plan a wedding for June or July, and you even THINK you may want a wedding planner, GET IN FAST. the other months are filling up as well, but nothing like June and July.

I was not impressed with this fondant. I dont use this kind anymore. I now use Choco-pan. See me for details and a taste test. And sorry they're so pixilated. Dont know why that is.

Just like I do custom invitations 2 ways, I do custom thank you cards 2 ways, too. If you know what you want, I can create it. If you don't, I can create a couple layouts.

Though this bride and groom knew what they wanted for invitations, they did not know what they wanted for thank you cards. Using their selected wedding pictures, this is what I came up with:

I can make custom invitations 2 ways: I can make a sketch of something you like, create it, and get your approval, or I can draw up a couple different options and you can pick your favorite.

***for a limited time, both options are the same price ( email me for an estimate).***

For this invitation, the bride and groom knew what they were looking for, so I only made one layout. (note that just because there was one layout, there was still a couple proofs. I don't expect to get it right every time on the first try, and the bride and groom deserve to say when the invitation is perfect, not the designer. That said, there is a limit to the number of proofs to be made. Email me for more information).

note: this client wanted store-bought frosting from a tub. Store-bought frosting DOES NOT go on a cake perfectly smooth, especially when you put it on a rounded surface. It is also a more expensive option. If you can't live without the taste of store-bought frosting, you are ok with a less-than-smooth finish, and you are willing to pay a little more (not alot, just a little), then consider it an option. It is, however a very suitable filling!

Ok, this is obviously not a wedding cake, but I had to share it! it's just too cute to pass up! It was made for a baby shower, but I think it is just as appropriate as a little girl's birthday cake. gumpaste is amazing!

The inspiration for this cake comes from Sugar Creations.

I confess, I am dang proud of these gumpaste decorations! The sugar is grainy inside the sugarbowl (cant tell in the pic), there's a cracked egg, the cupcake pan has actual depth, quilt has quilt marks! It was a BLAST to make this cake!

These roses were used on the Cheery cake. I can make roses look anything from semi-realistic to more stylized. I confess that I cannot make roses look as real as Scott Clark Woolley can, but I can achieve the look that you want.

*** This cake was actually for my daughter's 3rd birthday. She saw her Mommy making wedding cakes all the time and so when I asked her what she wanted for her birthday (thinking she'd tell me some kind of toy), she said she wanted a wedding cake (a girl after my own heart!). This is as close to a wedding cake that I was willing to go, since she was only 3. She loved it, and that's what counts. I think it would make a nice shower cake (only with a "bride" on top, instead of the ballerina dancers). ***
